Nature and Sea: The Sea
The Marche coastline looks out over the Adriatic sea and is punctuated by promontories, inlets and small coves.Long sections of the Northern coast are of strong visual impact with a very wild appearance.
From the mouth of the river Tavollo to that of the Cesano, runs the Pesaro coastline, known as the "Riviera delle Colline" (literally ‘Riviera of the hills’). In the north we find Gabicce Mare, a seaside resort arranged on two levels: below, stretching out over the small gulf with a large sandy shore set among hotels and gardens, higher up, a panoramic hillside covered in vegetation.
Pesaro, the attractive city that resounds the music of the great Gioacchino Rossini, offers 7 Km. of spacious sandy beaches.
Senigallia, with its 12 Km. of white and fine sandy beaches and its ancient origins (it was Sena Gallica, the ancient capital of the Gauls).
The regular layout of the beaches is suddenly interrupted to the South of Ancona where the greenery of Mount Conero overlooks the Adriatic Sea.
